ABOUT

Ellie Shopova-Smith is a lettering artist and calligrapher based in the historic town of Halifax, West Yorkshire.

She combines her love for the written word with over 15 years graphic design experience to create distinctive lettering for branding, packaging, publishing and advertising.

Ellie works with creative agencies, publishers and in-house teams on projects large and small. Equally at ease with digital and hand drawing, she can conceptualise ideas with creativity and flair. Her work is a unique mixture of hand-crafted lettering, polished typography and a sprinkle of illustration.

Ellie is also passionate about calligraphy. She creates beautiful tactile pieces for weddings, custom commissions and in-store events. She also teaches a variety of online calligraphy courses and workshops.

Ellie gained her creative degrees from York College and the Open University and continues to feed her curiosity with a variety of online courses and seminars.
